Bombing of Damiya Bridge (Adam)
The bridge was regularly guarded by two Arab watchmen, and a British police station located near it at Jiptalik Junction. The bridge was bombed during the 'Night of the Bridges' operation, on the night of the 16th to the 17th of June 1946.
The bridge overlooks the Jordan River about 45km south of Beisan and the road leading from Nablus to Amman runs through it. The bridge is located in the center of an Arab area, and a few Bedouin encampments sat nearby.
