The Background for the Police Stations Bombing Operation

The pretext for the operation was the capturing of the "Berel Kazhenelson" Haapala ship on the Shefayim shore.
The pretext for the operation was the capturing of the "Berel Kazhenelson" Haapala ship on the Shefayim shore. That was the first ship to be spotted and captured after WWII ended. About 200 immigrants made it to the shore with the help of Palmach members, who received their training in a ship commanders' course in Caesarea. But nearing the end of the operation, British patrol ships directed from the Sidna-Ali station, captured some of the immigrants and Palmach members who were disembarking them. Two days after the ship was caught, the "X-Committee" that instructed the Resistance Movement, approved a plan that had already been awaiting execution at the Palmach planning department: to sabotage the two British coastal police stations.
