Orders for Operation "Yevusi"
On 22.4.48, HQ of Operation "Yevusi” issued operational orders for Stage One.
On 22.4.48, HQ of “Operation Yevusi” issued operational orders for Stage One, which was to include the following actions:
- Occupation of Sheikh Jarrakh and of 6 houses in the Nashashibi neighbourhood. This was to be carried out regardless of British opposition. If the British were to attack with superior forces, the area was to be abandoned and the neighbourhood demolished.
- Occupation of the Police School.
- Occupation of Shu’afat (and subsequent withdrawal if necessary).
- Demolition of houses in Sheikh Jarrakh and in the Police School.
- The Fourth Battalion to occupy the village of Nabi Samuel and to demolish the base at Beit Iksa.
- The Fifth Battalion to take Shu’afat and possibly also Beit Hanina and the French Hill.
Zero hour was set for midnight on the night of 23.4.48.
