Medal of Valor – Aryeh Armoni

Aryeh Armoni, a fighter in the 'Golani Brigade, commanded a convoy of several trucks during the battle for the Rafiah army posts (4.1.49.). After the supplies were unloaded, 20 Egyptian tanks began to advance under cover of heavy bombardment. It seems that one of the trucks that remained in the area, hid the enemy forces from the Israeli army artillery force. Aryeh crawled in the direction of the truck and drove it away, thus enabling the artillery force to shell the Egyptian tanks that retreated from the area.
