Medal of Valor – Ron Feller

Ron Feller was a 'Givati' Brigade fighter. During a counter-attack by the Egyptians on Karatya on the 18.7.48, with 15 tanks and two infantry Brigades, two 'Givat' tanks broke through the Egyptian lines. Ron Feller crawled in full daylight until he came within 50 meters of the tanks. He then fired a 'Piat' in the direction of one of the tanks. The shot did not do any damage and the Egyptians immediately opened fire on him. He then stood up straight, fired again and succeeded in hitting one of the tanks.
This heroic action of Ron Feller broke the enemy attack.
