Medal of Valor – Emmanuel Landau

Emmanuel Landau of the 1st Battalion, participated in the ambush set by his unit next to Kiryat Motzkin on the 17.3.1948. The purpose of the ambush was to attack an Arab convoy transporting armaments from Lebanon to Haifa. In order to reinforce the Arab fighters in Haifa. In the course of the attack on the convoy, Emmanuel jumped on one of the trucks loaded with arms and ammunition and attempted to drive it in the direction of our forces. Tragically, some of the bullets fired at the truck caused it to explode and Emmanuel was killed.
