The "Natan B" Haapala ship was prepared to depart for Israel in di Bari port in Italy by Jewish soldiers from Transportation unit 468 of the British army, and the ship's escorts. The ship commander was Palyam member Yisrael Rotem (Ben-Yitzhak.)
The 'Gidoni' was Yecheskel Stern (Shavit.) The additional escort's name is unknown

"Natan B" sailed from port Monopoli, Italy on September 24th 1945, with 73 immigrants on board. The ship safely arrived at Shefayim shore on October 1st, without being spotted by the British. The immigrants were unloaded in three boats and dispersed among nearby settlements.
The ship returned to Italy with 15 envoys, seamen and 'Gidonim' to reinforce the Haapala endeavor.
