Summary of Operation ‘Dani’

During Operation ‘Dani’ the IDF took control of the towns of Lydda and Ramleh (plus Lydda’s main air field and railway station) and a large number of villages around it and in the vicinity of the Modi’in Sector. The Jordanian Legion was forced to abandon its footholds resulting in the front being distanced from the Centre. Villages were captured in the region of the Jerusalem corridor, the IDF’s area of control was extended and an additional road to Jerusalem was opened (via Kisla and Tsuba).
Losses: 179 IDF soldiers were killed in the course of the Operation.
