The company was assembled during the summer of 1941 from members of Kibbutzs and settlements in the South as well as from a small group of youth movements’ cadets; in addition, one of its platoons received religious members. After only ten days of training the men were sent to their homes, there they trained on a minor scale and waited until they were recruited in the spring of 1942. Under the threat of the German invasion, the company, as the other companies, was sent to train at Ben Shemen and Mishmar Hae'mek, and then posted in the settlements which were later to become its permanent positions. Towards the end of the summer of 1942 the company began to follow a routine of agricultural labor and military training in Giva’at Hashlosha, Bee'r Tuvia, Kfar Menahem and Negba, welcoming to its lines the first female recruits.
The company varied its training and founded a patrol platoon which became famous in its men’s patrols in the Judea Dessert and acquaintance of the routs of the Negev.
With the expansion of the circle of recruits towards the end of 1943, the company welcomed recruits from all sectors of society and recruited trainings, once again filling its thinning lines after its veterans retired in 1944.
