Pluga Vav - Company Six
The company was assembled during the summer of 1941 mainly from Jerusalem youth – high school graduates and students, including former IZL groups and a few men from the neighboring Kibbutzs. This was the Palmach's second urban company. Following ten days of intensive training the company's men were sent to their homes and after a year of occasional minor training, in the spring of 1942, were called for intensive training which took place initially in Kiryat Anavim and Mishmar Hae'mek. As the threat of the German invasion passed, the company camped in the farms of the Sharon and Emek Hefer and from there moved, towards the end of the summer, to its permanent camps in the Kibbutzs Ayelet Hashachar, Kfar Giladi and Dafna.
Due to the resignation of many of the company's men which were recruited to the British army, the company was reinforced in the middle of 1943 with the first recruited training cadets and from then on continued to welcome new recruits from different sectors of the Israeli society, as well as more recruited training cadets. In spite of the initial hardships and the retirement of its veterans in 1944, the company was united and ultimately rearranged and transferred to Jezre'el Valley.
